Success for the NEFI Project TCP_to Industry

Energy Globe Award: 25 Years
for a Sustainable Future

On September 18^th, 2024, the awards ceremony for the Energy Globe Upper Austria and Energy Globe Austria 2024 took place at the ORF Regional Studio in Linz. This year, there were over 300 impressive submissions for the renowned Energy Globe Award. The event marked the 25^th anniversary of the Energy Globe Awards and was dedicated to innovative solutions in the areas of Earth, Fire, Water, Air, Youth, and the special category "Sustainable Community."

A particular highlight was the nomination of the NEFI project "Thermal Cracking Process for Energy Recovery to Industry" (TCP_to_Industry). This project investigates a thermo-chemical process that enables the treatment of secondary raw materials through the use of industrial waste heat. The company seccon, a project partner and developer of a patented process, was nominated for the Energy Globe 2024 environmental award. The project is coordinated by Montanuniversität Leoben, and the OÖ Energiesparverband supports the dissemination of the project results.
