OÖ EDISON Innovation Award goes to NEFI project idea

The "Seccon process" developed as part of the NEFI project TCP_to_Industry achieved first place in the "Innovation" category and received a special prize in the "Sustainability" category at the OÖ EDISON 2023 competition.

The golden EDISON 2023 was awarded to Jürgen Secklehner (Scharnstein) and his team for the patented Seccon process. This process utilizes the waste heat from industrial plants to recover, clean, and improve the recyclability of valuable raw materials from waste materials through combustion/pyrolysis, all while being completely CO₂ neutral. The pilot plant has been operational since the end of June 2023 at the Seccon company's technical center in Pettenbach.

The EDISON idea competition awarded the coveted gold, silver, and bronze awards in the categories of "Technology," "Innovation," and "Creative Industries." Approximately 60 applications were received by the organizers, tech2b, TECH HARBOR, the University of Art and Design Linz, and the Creative Region. The award ceremony took place on June 29, 2023.
