Success factor for regional economic policy

Founded in 1991, in the aftermath of the nationalisation crisis and in times of high unemployment, the Technology and Marketing Company (TMG) was intended as a contact point for companies to promote the establishment of businesses and new technologies. “Today, the ‘start-up’ TMG has become the Upper Austrian location agency Business Upper Austria, which, with its holdings, is the central hub in Upper Austria’s innovation network. The core tasks have remained, but the major challenges such as climate change, structural change, demographics and the digital transformation demand more than ever the role of an innovation engine that provides comprehensive support to companies at the location,” explained Governor Thomas Stelzer and Provincial Councillor for Economic Affairs Markus Achleitner on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Upper Austrian Business Upper Austria Location Agency.
