Flexibility

HUB

Relevance

Technologies for flexibilisation are crucial for the decarbonisation of industry. They promote the integration of renewable energy sources and thus facilitate the transition to a climate-neutral economy.

The availability of renewable energy sources like wind and solar power depends on the weather and time of day. Flexible technologies can store energy when supply is high and release it when needed, making the energy supply more reliable and stable.

These technologies enable a more dynamic and efficient operation of production systems. They allow energy-intensive processes to be scheduled for times when renewable energy is available, thereby reducing the use of fossil fuels. Additionally, flexibility can reduce energy costs by smoothing out peak loads and making systems more resilient to external disruptions.
