The path to a climate-neutral industry opens up great opportunities. One of these opportunities is the portfolio management of flexibilities in the context of an energy market that is becoming increasingly difficult to control and price-volatile. Flexibility options on the energy supply or demand side, such as buffers for thermal energy or material flows, storage systems or flexible deployment planning, can be instruments for balancing out volatility. We would therefore like to address the question of whether flexibility options can be used economically in industrial processes and thus also contribute to stabilizing the energy supply.
