Softwarepark Hagenberg & Schloss Ranshofen
The participation is free of charge.
The Long Night of Research 2024 will take place on 24 May from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. under the motto ‘Join in. Marvel. Discover.’ and consists of around 270 exhibition venues in all Austrian provinces. The workshops, lectures, guided tours and all other offers at this event are free of charge.
The two NEFI projects "E.Factory" and "GreenBricks" for the energy transition will also present their latest developments and their social and economic benefits.
Together with STIWA, a station is being offered at the Hagenberg Software Park as part of the E.Factory project. Pupils have the opportunity to gain insights into the energy system of a virtual chocolate factory in a playful and interactive setting. Various factory settings can be changed and the effects on product quality, energy consumption and C02 emissions can be observed. Further information on the E.Factory project outside the Long Night of Research can be found here and this information video (in German) also provides an initial insight.
Together with Wienerberger, a station for the NEFI project GreenBricks is provided in Ranshofen Castle. This project is about green brick production, whereby brick production with the world's largest industrial electric kiln can be found in Uttendorf, Upper Austria, and has already achieved a significant reduction in CO2 emissions. Visitors to the station have the fantastic opportunity to take a virtual tour of the showcase production facility and help build it themselves. Further details on the GreenBricks project can be found here.

We look forward to welcoming you to our two stations at both Hagenberg Software Park and Ranshofen Castle.
