Institute of Electricity Economics and Energy Innovation (IEE) of TU Graz together with the co-organizers OVE – Austrian Association for Electrical Engineering), Oesterreichs Energie (Representation of Interests of the Austrian e-Business) and the World Energy Council Austria.

Under the slogan „FUTURE OF ENERGY – Innovations for a climate-neutral future“ the 17th Symposium for Energy Innovation is held from February 16-18, 2022, online.

The current Climate Report of the IPCC underlines the urgency of achieving climate neutrality as quickly as possible. In addition, more and more people are being directly affected by the effects of climate change. The entire energy sector and above all the increasingly important field of electrical energy will play a decisive role in the future. Based on the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN and the Paris Agreement, strategies and measures for climate neutrality are increasingly being discussed at different levels (e.g., EU Green Deal, “Fit for 55”, phase-out of coal, The Renewable Energy Expansion Act). This Symposium will discuss which innovations are required on the way to climate neutrality from the perspective of the energy industry and how any obstacles can be overcome.

In the framework of the EnInnov2022 Symposium and in the sense of a prosperous development of the European energy industry and the European Society, the following papers are presented by our NEFI experts under the following topics:
